Costa Rica Airline Schedules
by: Wolf Sebring

Costa Rica Airline Schedules - Costa Rica's 2 domestic airlines, Nature Air and SANSA function from 2 different airports (Nature air from Tobias Bolanos and SANSA from Juan Santamaria International Airport) close to San Jose. The flights offered usually last between 15 to 60 minutes each and cost no more than $100. airport_juan_santamaria_picture_16b

Both nature air and SANSA technically deal with the same outlying destinations and almost all flights either begin or end at the capital city of San Jose. However NatureAir has tried to alter this convention by starting a few flights from Quepos and Tamarindo since 2005. These flights are directed to the same destinations as those flying from San Jose and thereby make allow far greater connectivity to the rest of Costa Rica.

The Juan Santamaria International Airport, SANSA's main operating center is also Costa Rica's primary international airport. Due to its international status most international carriers such as Continental, United, American, TACA land etc. maintain their fleets and offices here. A number of car rental companies are also established here.

The two airports, Tobias Bolanos and Juan Santamaria, are a stone's throw away from each other. A cab ride from one to the other costs a meager $15 and takes no more than 15 minutes.

Despite their parity in terms of rates, routes and equipments there is a basic difference between SANSA and NatureAir and it concerns the hub airport. NatureAir for instance takes serving tourists more seriously than other things. As a result it keeps itself ready with a person who can write or speak in English, so as to make traveling a more comfortable experience for the international tourists. SANSA is slightly cheaper than NatureAir, but on the whole the latter clinches the trophy when it comes to better service providing.

Also working in favor for NatureAir is the fact that many of their flights no longer require you to stop over at San Jose.
The SANSA terminal at the Juan Santamaria airport on the other hand offers passengers a chance to avail locker facilities.Â
Both the airlines have charter services. These are offered to all the airports served by them and others, which are short of scheduled flights. airport_juan_santamaria_picture_28b
